Provide a solution to improve urban management by predicting traffic with emphasizing on environmental impact assessment

Abstract

Today, personal vehicles in our country are increasing day by day. In this study, Imam Khomeini port city has been studied and after a field visit of the city, it was found that the biggest problem of this city is the existence of a high level of conflict and the lack of proper flow for circulating movements at intersections in the city.

In the first step, a map of the study area in the software environment and aerial photographs were prepared from Imam Khomeini port city and was modeled together with the results obtained from the census of traffic and pedestrian volumes, in the peak hours of traffic after determining the validity and summarizing the data in Excel software, as a percentage of turnover and the total volume of traffic for the entrances leading to each of the intersections of the study network and for each of the peak times of the morning, noon and evening for one hour (in four 15-minute parts) to enter the AIMSUN simulator software and then, the available photos and maps were matched to each other with the appropriate scale. the central network of Imam Khomeini port city was determined and proposed with the aim of reviewing the traffic proposals of the comprehensive plan of this city. Also, the alternative scenarios were presented to smooth the traffic in the central part of the city, and then the geometric correction and adjustment of the traffic direction of the vehicles were performed. Finally, due to the obtained simulation results, a superior scenario was introduced;.
